BettaCool ("we", "us", or "our") operates the BettaCool mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By using BettaCool, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture when you sign in with Google or create an account.
• Profile Data: Display name, bio, avatar, and other profile details you choose to share.
• User Content: Photos, videos, text posts, comments, replies, and messages you create or share through the App.
• Transaction Data: Information related to buying, selling, or bidding on items.
• Pedigree & Showcase Data: Betta fish lineage information, genetics data, and showcase entries you create.
• Communications: Messages sent through in-app chat features.
• Reporting Data: When you report a post, comment, or another user, we collect the details of your report (including the reported content, reason for reporting, and your account information) to investigate and enforce our community guidelines.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens.
• Usage Data: Features used, pages visited, actions taken, and timestamps.
• Log Data: Error logs and performance data to improve app stability.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• Google Sign-In: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture as authorized by you.
• Apple Sign-In: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address as authorized by you. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose to hide your email.

1.4 Identity Verification Data (Seller eKYC)

When you choose to verify your seller identity to enable selling and auctioning on the platform, we collect:

• National ID Card Photo: A photo of your government-issued national ID card, captured via the device camera or selected from your photo library.
• Selfie Photo: A photo of your face, captured via the front-facing camera, for identity matching purposes.
• Verification Status: Whether your identity has been verified, pending, or rejected.
• PDPA Consent Record: A record of your explicit consent to the collection and processing of this data, including the date and time of consent.

This data is collected only with your explicit consent (PDPA opt-in) and solely for the purpose of verifying your identity as a seller to protect buyers on the platform. Your ID card and selfie photos are stored securely on encrypted servers hosted on Microsoft Azure and are accessible only to authorized administrators for manual review.

Important: You are not required to complete identity verification to use the App. This feature is optional and only required if you wish to sell or auction items on the platform.

1.5 Email Verification Data

When you register with an email address, we may send a one-time password (OTP) to your email for verification purposes. We collect:

• Email Address: The email you registered with.
• Verification Status: Whether your email has been verified.

OTP codes are hashed and stored temporarily (15 minutes) and automatically deleted after verification or expiry. We do not store plain-text OTP codes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following cases:

• Public Content: Posts, comments, profile information, and showcase entries are visible to other users as part of the App's social features.
• Service Providers: We may share data with cloud service providers (Microsoft Azure) to host and operate the App.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
• With Your Consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data.
• Media files (photos, videos) are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through your profile settings.
• Update your profile information at any time.
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Opt-out of push notifications through your device settings.
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us.

Under the Thailand Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you have additional rights including the right to withdraw consent, the right to data portability, and the right to object to data processing.

6. Account Deletion

You may delete your BettaCool account at any time through one of the following methods:

• In-App: Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account within the App.
• Email: Send a deletion request to support@bettacool.com from the email address associated with your account.

Upon receiving your deletion request, we will:

• Permanently delete your account and all associated personal data within 30 days.
• Remove your profile, posts, comments, messages, and media from the platform.
• Cancel any active listings or pending transactions.
• Retain only data required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., transaction records for tax compliance), which will be anonymized where possible.

Please note that content you have shared publicly may have been copied or shared by other users prior to deletion, and we cannot control third-party copies.

7. Children's Privacy

BettaCool is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Retention

• We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
• If you delete your account, we will permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.
• Identity verification data (ID card photos, selfie photos) is retained for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, all verification data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Email verification OTPs are automatically deleted after 15 minutes or upon successful verification, whichever comes first.
• Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
